Tomato Bisque Soup Recipe Creamy, Smooth and Delicious



A Tomato Bisque Soup Recipe is a vegetable version of a Seafood type Bisque soup.

Bisques are not for the lactose intolerant. Tomato bisque as the other Bisque recipes is a very buttery and creamy soup with a touch of spice.

This Tomato Bisque recipe would make a great appetizer or party dish. Enjoy this easy to make tomato bisque soup. For the ultimate in flavor use garden fresh vine ripened tomatoes.

TOMATO BISQUE SOUP RECIPE


Directions:

Start by making a Tomato Base for your Tomato Bisque Soup Recipe by cutting tomatoes into bite size chunks.

In a heavy soup pot saute garlic and onion in butter on low heat until cleared. Raise heat to medium add old bay seasoning, salt, pepper, basil, and sugar.

Stir for two minutes then add tomatoes and stir blending the ingredients.

Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 30 minutes. Remove from heat set to cool. Remove 1 1/2 cups of tomato chunks and set aside.

Start to puree remaining ingredients in blender for about 2 - 3 minutes until smooth.

Return the puree and the chunks to the pot. set heat on medium. Slowly add the milk and cream stirring constantly.

Blend all ingredients and reduce heat to simmer for about ten minutes. Garnish with small fresh Basil leaves. Serve with croutons. serves 6




Ingredients:

8 (4 cups) medium Tomatoes Blanched, peeled and chopped.

2 clove Garlic - finely minced

1/2 medium onion - finley minced

3 tbsp. Butter

1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning

Sea Salt And Fresh Ground Pepper

1 tbsp fresh Basil - finely minced

2 tsp Brown Sugar

1 cup whole milk

1 cup whipping cream



VARIATIONS - Tomato Bisque Soup Recipe
SHERRY OR WINE - Dry Sherry or White Wine can be added. Try about 1/3 - 1/2 cup.

SEAFOOD - Generaly a Seafood Bisque doesn't have tomatoes.

The Seafood - Lobster, Crabs(blue claw or Alaskin King), Shrimp and Craw Fish are usually cooked in the shell in order to create a fish broth. The process is very involved.

A great tomato version can easily be done. Use about a pound of your favorite seafood. Cook in shell or just add the meat with the other ingredients.

Before the puree process remove seafood, let cool, remove meat and discard shells. Add 2/3 of the seafood to the puree process. Chop the remaining meat into small bite size chunks and add back in with the remaining tomato chunks.(Very Good!)
