Marinara Sauce Recipe



A good Marinara Sauce Recipe is the ultimate tomato sauce recipe. This recipe is the easiest, best tasting homemade tomato sauce with unlimited variations and potential.

Marinara means "of the Sea". This sauce originated in the 16th century when Spaniards introduced the Tomato to Italy. Considered a Sailor Sauce because it required no meat and worked well with available seafood, plus it was fast and easy to make.

Today it is considered a classic with endless possibilities. It can be used by itself, sweet, spicy, with seafood and even with meat.

Simple, easy and fast. Perfect for today's lifestyle. Many believe this is Italian tomato sauce at it's best, light and flavorful.

MARINARA SAUCE RECIPE

Directions:

Start with enough olive oil to cover the bottom of a medium sauce pan. Set heat to medium-low and add the garlic.

Cook until the smaller pieces become golden brown. Add the tomato sauce and stir in the garlic. Sprinkle on parsley, basil, oregano and crushed red pepper to taste.

Add two twists of ground black pepper and incorporate ingredients into the sauce. (Note: add additional ingredients, if desired, here. See Variations.) Cook for about 10 minutes then lower the heat to simmer, cook for half an hour and it's ready to serve with your favorite pasta and crusty bread.

Serves 4.

Ingredients:


24 oz Tomato Sauce - canned or fresh tomato base.

2-3 Tbsp. Olive Oil

3-4 large Garlic Cloves - diced

1 tsp. Parsley (approx.)

1 tsp. Basil "

1 tsp. Oregano "

1/4 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper - (Optional)

Where do we start? Try this recipe as shown the first time, if you like it leave it alone, if not, adjust ingredients in recipe to taste.

Additions:

Seafood - Try it with Crab, Shrimp, Fish, Clams or Mix and match.

Fra Diavolo - Heat it up with more crushed red pepper (excellent with Shrimp!)

Meat - Braise ribs, then let them simmer and breakdown into the sauce.

Meatballs, any style you like. Ground Meat for a delicious meat sauce.

Vegan Style - chopped up grilled vegetables, green peas, Mushrooms etc.

Serve this recipe over any kind of Pasta you like. Especially good with Ravioli, Rice Balls or Lasagna.
