2014 Carroll County Heirloom Festival is a bit of an anomaly. It's held by the Carroll County Farmers Market and has less information available than any Tomato festival. The 2014 Carroll County Heirloom Tomato Festival is held every year in August, the peak of the Maryland Tomato Season.

On Saturday, August 16th, The Carroll County Farmer’s Market will feature the Master Gardeners’ 6th Annual Heirloom Tomato Festival. Hours are 8am-1pm.
There will be around 40 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes to taste. To be considered an heirloom tomato, the plants... must be open pollinated, which means by the wind or insects, and has existed for at least 50 years. The Master Gardeners will provide information on how to grow heirloom tomatoes and have heirloom seeds for customers to take home and grow next year. In addition to the fresh tomato tasting, there will be a variety of dishes using the heirloom tomatoes available for sampling, as well as recipe cards.

Flying in? A rental car is necessary, but will open up the scope of your adventure.
No matter where you are coming from there are quality Hotels, guest houses and B&B's everywhere. Staying in the Baltimore or Westminster MD area is the best choice.
